The time it takes to complete your commissioned artwork varies. Once you are booked in, I operate on a first come first serve basis, and will add your project to my waiting list. My list can extend from two to six months, depending on the number of bookings I have at any given time.

Once the commissioned artwork is completed and the payment finalized, I will package the drawing wrapped in glassine paper to protect the surface of the pastel before sandwiching it securely between two 10mm pieces of foamboard. Along with your custom pet portrait, I will include an instruction sheet on how to care for your pastel drawing prior to framing, as well as tips on how to frame if you opt not to use a professional company.
I use a variety of couriers depending on where you are in the world, typically opting for the fastest service. While some international services may not offer insurance for artwork, you have my personal guarantee that should your artwork arrive damaged, I will replace it free of charge.
The simple answer is no. However, I might consider adding a pet's name in a very small font on a custom pet portrait. The reason I can't incorporate large text or calligraphy is because nothing will overlay the pastel completely, leading to an untidy and unprofessional look. I always suggest having a small brass plaque engraved, which can be added to the mount for a more polished finish.
I don't offer this service currently as specialist tools, skills, and space are required. I'm unable to send glass through the mail, and I find it more fulfilling when you, the customer, get to put your design stamp on the project. When it comes to commissioned artwork, the mounting and framing options are vast, and I feel that it's a very personal process to select the styles and colors that will really finish the drawing off with a bang!
No, I have drawn the occasional hand and arm if it was required for the composition of the drawing, but my skills as an artist of human faces aren't advanced enough for me to offer this service.
My prices for commissioned artwork are as low as they could be, so unfortunately I don't offer any discounts at present. It is my time that is being purchased more than anything, so I would take a personal financial hit if I were to offer discounts—as much as I'd love to!
